Deck or Patio - Which Would Be your Preference
Home and Garden September 4th, 2008If you have bought a new house and are confused about the outdoor décor-to build a wonderful patio or a fantastic deck, this article may help you a lot. Some may go for a patio, while some may opt for a deck.
But, on second thoughts, decks may need regular maintenance & care. Pressure washing, deck cleaning & deck staining are some of the costly plus time consuming activities involved if you build a deck.
While on the other hand, patio floorings are built from concrete or stone slabs. They need minimal care and are easy to clean. Decks are mostly made of wood and are subject to environmental hazards like rain, hot sun and termite problems.
A stone or concrete patio may stay durable for years together requiring no costly repairs, whereas wood decks do need meticulous care as they age.
There are some who have both a patio and a deck area, and believe me; they all know the difference between the two of them when it comes to maintenance. Deck has the upper hand when it comes to a little alteration or change, in case of a concrete patio-you cannot change it or remodel it without incurring heavy expenditure costs.
Some have a deck that meets down a stone patio; such unique combinations are wonderful for those who are ready to divert healthy attention to both the outdoor recreational space.
I prefer to stick to a spacious patio for outdoor purposes, what about you?
