A little look at the history of the Barcelona chair will help you get a real insight into what it is like to have such a chair. First it is a real symbol of royalty. Remember, Miles designed it specifically for the King and Queen of Spain for the World Fair event of 1929 as part of the Germany pavilion at the international exhibition or exposition. That description will even help you understand why the seat is so costly and why it is not easy to find it in the shops as readily available. The other reason that would lead to this is the fact that the materials used to manufacture it are costly so it is made only by order. 

Like all the other chairs including the exposition chair, it has its other cheaper versions. You can get a sofa version that is similar to the Barcelona chair. True to say, the real Barcelona chair is expensive and not everyone can afford to have. However, we all desire to have a feel of it all the same. 

You will still feel you are on the iconic chair even if you are only on the sofa version. The sofa version of the same is not cheap either. It is still expensive but compared to the real chair it rates cheaper. If you can afford though, it is advisable that you get the real chair that normally come in either black or cream colors.
